Lisandro Martinez’s love affair with Manchester United has continued with a new fan chant.
The £57million summer signing from Ajax continues to fit in seamlessly at Old Trafford after jetting over from the Netherlands with Erik ten Hag, and was again the star in their latest win.
Martinez was handed the Man of the Match award in a 3-0 Carabao Cup semi-final win over Nottingham Forest, which could see United have a shot at a first trophy since 2017 if they hold out in the second leg.
Marcus Rashford, Wout Weghorst and Bruno Fernandes were the scorers in a convincing victory, but Martinez was the stand-out with a 92 per cent pass accuracy and his five tackles the most of any player.
And after the win, fans made sure to let their Argentine World Cup winner know how much he’s loved with a chant familiar to him.
Singing ‘Argentina, Argentina, Argentina’ from the away end, Martinez felt the love, with his countryman Alejandro Garnacho probably realising it wasn’t for him.
Martinez reposted the clip with the caption: "Always there! Thank you for always being there.”
Last time out in defeat to Arsenal, Martinez scored his first United goal, and after another stellar showing, club legend Roy Keane was full of praise.

“He’s got pride in his defending, which is great to see,” he said. “A lot of the modern defenders know it’s about what they do in possession. He wants to defend, he’s got great pride in it.

“He wants to defend. He looks the right character, the kind of lad you want to be in the trenches with. We saw it tonight, United were coasting towards the end but he still wanted to defend.
“We talk about the importance of scoring the three goals but from a defender’s point of view, they’ll be delighted with a clean sheet.”
