Harry Styles is known for this envy-inducing style choices, from bold suits to coordinating pocket squares and a rotation of high fashion boots. He’s known to rock everything from Gucci to Calvin Klein and even Saint Laurent on his feet and, apparently, there’s another reason why boots are his go-to footwear (you know, aside from them looking devilishly handsome).
In his upcoming documentary, Harry Styles at the BBC, the former One Directioner tells a tale from his early years in the boy band, when he had a pair of sneakers ripped off his feet by over-eager fans. According to British Vogue, Styles found himself in the middle to a swarm of fans upon arriving in Paris. His security team eventually got him loose from the crowd, but he realized too late that he was just in his socks. The incident was enough to make Styles swear off sneaks in favor of more secure-fitting boots.
In the doc, Styles also reflects on his first big movie role in the war film Dunkirk, admitting that it was as hard as it looked. “Why have I done this? This is so hard,” he remembers thinking on the first day of shooting.
And while he’s down to star in another major motion picture if the right role comes up, Styles is focusing on music for now.
We’re glad to hear it.
