Buxton agent Tony Moorfoot said they negotiated to buy the property for $620,000 after it passed in for $600,000 at auction.

The house is on a 676sqm block just a few doors down from Montpellier Primary St in sought-after old Highton.

Mr Moorfoot said the location was popular with families and the older home offered scope for further updates.

“They plan to renovate it over time,” he said.

The two-storey house has two separate living areas, a study, large workshop and a carport.
